Jacqueline Fernandez, a Sri Lankan actor hailing from Bahrain's Manama was raised in the multicultural home of a family. The father of Jacqueline, Elroy Fernandez, is from Sri Lanka. Jacqueline is the youngest of two brothers and an older brother. In the 1980s, her parents fled to Bahrain in protest against the civil war in Sri Lanka. As a teenager Padukone was a participant in numerous national badminton tournaments. However, she resigned from the sport when she decided to be a professional fashion model. Padukone comes from Mangalore and her native language is Konkani. Her lineage is from Padukone village, which is located in Kundapura Taluk in the Udupi District in the state of Karnataka, India. Prakash Padukone was a badminton legend who retired in the 80s. She has a mother who runs a travel agency also comes from this area.
